Our London in a Day tour will take you places that no other London tour company does, traversing the city by foot, underground, bus and boat as we visit Parliament, parks, palaces and Piccadilly over a busy morning. Then in the afternoon you’ll go to markets, museums, cathedrals, prisons and playhouses.

You’ll avoid crowds at the usual tourist hot-spots, all while experiencing the real culture of London and learning its storied history. If you really want to get to know London, this walking and metro tour is the best option you’ll find. In fact it’s the only tour that uses all three modes of public transport here (included in the price).

We’ll start your tour at the Palace of Westminster, where we begin the story of London by telling you the history of both the palace and Parliament, and show you Westminster Abbey. From there we drop in on Number 10 Downing Street and walk through St James Park to visit Buckingham Palace.

From there you’ll stroll up to Piccadilly Circus, and then saunter through Leicester Square and the West End to Covent Garden. You’ll be hungry by then, so it’s handy that you’re in the perfect spot to get a lovely lunch. Our guide can make some great recommendations.

After lunch we’ll take on a double-decker red bus to see an icon of London – St Paul’s Cathedral – before we take you, by Tube train, to another icon – the Tower of London. Next we jump on an Uber Boat to go down the Thames, crossing to the other side of the river, where we show you London’s South Bank.

After disembarking we visit the wonderful Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and the historic Golden Hind, the ship that Elizabethan navigator Sir Francis Drake used to circumnavigate the world. By this point you’ll feel like you’ve been on your own epic voyage of discovery.

The tour ends at the Tate Modern, one of London’s most popular museums, by the Millennium Bridge. It’s only a short walk to Southwark, London Bridge and Blackfriars stations and there are numerous cafes, bars, pubs and restaurants in the area for you to enjoy into the evening.

*Cost: £95 pp.

*Walking distance: less than 5 miles over the day.

*Tour starts 10 am daily, Westminster Station, under arches of Portcullis House, corner of Bridge St and Victoria Embankment (photo of meeting point).

*Tour finishes 6 pm, Tate Modern, South Bank.

*Travel by bus, Tube and Uber Boat during tour is included in ticket price (if possible).

*There’s a big range of food options and all types of diet are available (vegan, gluten-free etc).

*Have dinner on the South Bank after the tour (guide can make recommendations).

*A great option if you have a layover in London, you’ll make the most of your time.

This is a walking and metro tour and we move at a reasonable pace, climbing several sets of steps. It’s not suitable for people with mobility issues.

Please note bus, Underground and Uber Boat operations can be affected by events and technical issues beyond our control and may not be possible on tour.

This tour is not recommended for children under 12 y.o.

We never cancel tours in advance due to the weather conditions. Be sure to wear layered clothing, we can get four seasons in a day.

Aim to get to the meeting point 10-15 minutes early. If you’re late you may miss the tour.
